Nishmas Day 36 - Rabbi Shlomo Landau | When Words Fail
עַל כָּל דִּבְרֵי שִׁירוֹת וְתִשְׁבְּחוֹת דָּוִד בֶּן יִשַׁי עַבְדְּךָ מְשִׁיחֶךָ
Through all the words of songs and praises composed by Dovid, your servant and anointed one.
Picture a couple who spent years waiting for a child. If you asked them what it felt like to finally hold that baby in their arms, they wouldn't be able to fully put it into words.
וְרוֹמַמְתָּנוּ מִכָּל הַלְּשׁוֹנוֹת. Hashem created a world of emotions, experiences, and relationships so profound that human words could never fully contain them.
So what does a person do when they want to praise, plead, or pour out their heart to Hashem, but language feels inadequate?
They reach for Tehillim.
A מִזְמוֹר לְתוֹדָה through tears of gratitude.
A kapitel in moments of fear and uncertainty.
עַל כָּל דִּבְרֵי שִׁירוֹת וְתִשְׁבָּחוֹת — for every song, every yearning, every praise, and every cry.
דָּוִד בֶּן יִשַׁי עַבְדְּךָ מְשִׁיחֶךָ — Dovid HaMelech, through his own pain, his own joy, and the divine gift of רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ — gave words to the full spectrum of the human heart.
