הָ-ל הַגָּדוֹל הַגִּבּוֹר וְהַנּוֹרָא אֵל עֶלְיוֹן, קוֹנֵה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ
“The great, mighty, and awe-inspiring G-d, Creator of heaven and earth.”
In the words of Mrs. Nikki Rothstein:
When I’m driving, especially when I’m stuck in traffic, my mind tends to wander.
I look around at all the cars, going in different directions, merging, splitting off onto different highways, and suddenly a thought hits me: every single person in those cars has an entire world inside of them.
That person is a father. A son. A friend. A colleague. Each one carries so many roles, so many relationships, so many stories. Every person on this earth is a solar system unto themselves.
Hashem didn't create humanity as a group. He created Adam HaRishon as a single individual — one person — to teach us that every human being is a complete world of their own.
And when Hashem took Avraham Avinu outside and showed him the stars, there was a reason He chose the night sky. There is something about that endless expanse that stops you in your tracks — the sheer number of stars, how each one burns with its own light.
מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִים, לְכֻלָּם שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָא. “He counts the stars, and calls each one by name.”
There may be thousands of girls out there hoping to find their zivug, but לְכֻלָּם שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָא.
You are not a statistic. You are not a résumé.You are not just one among many.
You are a star, with your very own light.
Hashem knows your name, and He has the perfect ending to your story.
