Nishmas Day 13 - Mrs. Charlene Aminoff | Who Are You Really Thanking?
לְךָ לְבַדְּךָ אֲנַחְנוּ מוֹדִים – Hashem, it is to You alone that we give thanks, and express our deepest gratitude.
So often, good comes into our lives through people.
And then, when the deal goes through, you thank your business partner.
When you’re redt a promising name, you thank the shadchan.
When the test results come back clear, you thank the doctor.
And that’s the right thing to do.
But no matter who the messenger was, and how well they played their role, we need to keep sight of the true Source — the One who sent the gift our way.
There is one place it all leads back to—
לְךָ לְבַדְּךָ אֲנַחְנוּ מוֹדִים.
