Nishmas Day 35 | Mrs. Charlene Aminoff
Consistency is Crucial
It’s 2025. AI creates gorgeous imagery in seconds, work that would’ve taken days to create just two years ago. With this kind of reality unfolding before our eyes, it's no wonder we're often tempted to quit when we don't see instant results. There was a young girl who was struggling with shidduchim. A friend suggested saying Nishmas, and she began with enthusiasm. Quickly though, her commitment began to slide. By the time day forty arrived, she had said the tefilah about ten times in total. Her friend wouldn’t give up — you need to do this for real. She began texting her each morning, reminding her to say Nishmas. Then, on the thirty-third day, she was redt an amazing guy who seemed perfect on paper. She was thrilled – her Nishmas was working! But as they did more research, it became clear that the shidduch wasn’t for her. The letdown was tremendous. Yet with renewed determination, she began a third round of Nishmas. And just five days in, she began dating someone else. As the shidduch progressed, again, disappointment hit as complications came up, and the boy called things off. Still, she refused to give up, and continued her Nishmas. On the fortieth day of her tefilos, the shadchan called with surprising news. "Everything's been sorted out. He's ready to pick up where you left off." They resumed dating, and shortly thereafter, she became a Kallah. In a world evolving at breathtaking speed, we can’t forget the power of consistency — how chipping away at a block of wood can produce a beautiful sculpture if you keep at it long enough. Don’t give up.
