From despair to gratitude. We've all felt the sting of disappointment – those moments when our plans crumble and hope fades before our eyes. In those moments, we instinctively look up and ask –Hashem, what did I do to deserve this? Why me? It’s a question that escapes from our lips before we can stop it – and it’s a smart one. We just need to complete the question — "What did I do to deserve this chesed from You, Hashem?" Because if He’s doing it for me, then surely it is good – Gam Zu Letovah. Sometimes we're zoche to see how what seemed like a punishment was in fact good, a protection from Hashem. Other times, the greater picture remains hidden from our limited vision. But our job is not to understand . It’s to trust that every detail of our lives is stamped with His infinite love.
